Groowiki News for version 2.0.0

Groowiki 2.0.0 is a major feature release with such new features as full RADEOX support, WYSIWYG HTML web page editor, Lucene indexing, full workflow support. If you used Groowiki before it is a must to upgrade to the new version. If you did not use it, you have to give it a try.

WYSIWYG editor

Wiki pages can now be edited in the web browser using WYSIWYG editor without any knowledge of HTML. This way users, who use Groowiki can create pages nicely formatted without knowing html or radeox.

Easy installation

The installation of Groowiki was made as simple as possible. Just download the WAR file, upload it to your Tomcat server via the Tomcat management interface and click on the link of the deployed application. It can not be simpler than that.

Full radeox support

RADEOX is the de-facto WIKI markup standard. It is easy to learn, use and results nice pages. Groowiki supports the full set of RADEOX markup using a modified, extended radeox engine that was tuned to be compatible with Confluence as much as possible.

Index and search

Groowiki uses Lucene to index all documents that get into the repository as soon as the document is stored. Groowiki users can search documents in the head revision, in all revisions based on the content of the document as well as based on the business type properties of the documents. Search features are also available via radeox macros as well as for plugins.

Document oriented workflow

Any document can have a workflow attached to it. Documents can be in steps (a document can simultaneously be in one or more steps) and transitions can be performed between the steps. Workflow split and joins are easily implemented. Workflow transitions can be as simple as transition screen, or programmed in java or groovy. The workflows can be defined in XML format or using a graphical tool. Modifying a workflow is chaning the workflow graph and saving the result into the repository.
